Stage & Screen

Here's what I'm working on in the rehearsal room.

A play - in R&D

And Then Skull Said ...

Hamlet. Act Five, Scene One. Enter two Grave Diggers. And Hamlet, 23 lines too early. The Globe - that was the dream, not Hamlet at the Arts Depot with their life in tatters. Hamlet launches into “Alas, poor Yorick,” but to their surprise, the skull offers a prompt and a choice – to be or not to be.The scene melts away as Ghost (the skull) and Hamlet slip off to nowhere in particular, with just Ophelia’s grave, the stars, and big decisions for company.

Funny, poignant, thoughtful, And the Skull Said offers three alternative endings.

The Long Standby

Stage Manager Nina Kirkwood is desperately trying to get her company of chaotic misfits to opening night at the struggling Salford Lyceum theatre. To succeed, she must navigate egotistical actors, conniving colleagues and the discovery of human remains inside a building that is definitely haunted.
